The former mayor of Kukës Municipality, Safet Gjici, claimed today in the court session against him, that he was trapped by the former mayor of Kukës district, Abedin Oruçi in cooperation with Alma Kaçi, who made the erotic video in his office within the city hall.

According to Gjic, Oruçi also attacked him physically, as he did not allow him to occupy the properties of the Kukes Municipality, in order to carry out an unauthorized construction by the Kukes Lake.

At one point, as he burst into tears in the courtroom, Gjici apologized to his family and citizens. He emphasized another point, when he said that the prosecution is not investigating the claim that he was given a narcotic substance.

Gjici's statement in court:

I have a few additional things to say besides what the lawyer said. My conflict with Abedin Oruçi started in 2019 when I, in the capacity of the mayor, removed the iron fence from the square in front of the municipality because it was not his property. I proved this based on the documents in the Cadastre that that land did not belong to Abedin Oruç. It is about 9.3 dulym of land. Also, I did not allow Abedin Oruçi to build an object without a permit near the Kukës lake. I also had a physical confrontation with Oruči on the day the Dutch ambassador was in Kukes.

I filed a report against Oruçi, there were 5 charges against him at the Kukës Prosecutor's Office, but they managed to dismiss them. The conflict between us has been open and he paid Alma Kaçi as a sign of revenge because I did not let him occupy the municipality's properties and build illegally. He has been in search of the issue of construction without permission for a year or so. Abedin Oruçi has attacked me for the sake of duty, since 2019, since I have nothing personal behind me, I have only done my duty.

Who gave me the narcotic substance, Alma Kaçi and her accomplice, why is this fact not investigated by the prosecution. Why did Alma, after making the video, give it to Abedin Oruç, why was this fact not investigated, while I have been investigated for 6 months, are you saying that I created a terrorist organization? Where is the promise I made to Alma Kaçi for the project that nothing came out of my phone while she was communicating with Oruçi. I told her to go to deputy Alma, but she didn't hand it over there either. In the 2023 budget, we did not foresee such a fund for dogs.

They attacked me because I did not allow them to build without permission and appropriate the land. I have received the greatest punishment, the punishment is moral, I apologize to my family and the citizens of Kukës (he was in tears) Oruçi wanted me to leave and implement his projects, go to Kukës and see how they seized the properties of the municipality. Abedin Oruçi has had 25 criminal cases over the years. I claim innocence because I have not broken any law.
