Starting this Monday, June 2, the Municipality of Tirana officially opens the process of registering children in the city's public nurseries and kindergartens, as well as their transition from nursery to kindergarten. The application will be carried out only online, through the dedicated platform: e-femijet.tirana.al

Parents will have a 20-day deadline to complete the application, which will close on June 22. The first step that the parent must take is to register on this platform. That is, a personal account with the parent's basic data such as name, surname, phone number and email address.

Once they have entered the system, parents will be faced with 4 options: registration in a nursery, registration in a kindergarten, transfer from a nursery to a kindergarten or transfers from one nursery to another or from one kindergarten to another.
To register their child in a nursery for the first time, they select the "register in a nursery" option found on the main page of the platform. Next, parents select the administrative unit where they live and then the nursery or kindergarten in that unit that they prefer for their child. The identical procedure is followed for registration in kindergartens. All nurseries and kindergartens in the area where parents live can be found on the platform through a dedicated map.

The documents required for registering children in nurseries and kindergartens include: the child's personal and family certificate, proof of employment of the parents, which must also reflect the monthly salary, as well as proof of social security contributions, which can be obtained through the e-albania portal. It is also necessary to submit proof of the child's vaccinations.

For children moving from nursery to kindergarten, personal and family certificates are required, as well as a residence certificate proving that the family is located near the institution. In cases where the transfer of a child from one nursery to another is required, it is also necessary to submit a document justifying the reasons for the move.
For children belonging to special or vulnerable categories, additional documents are required to prove their specific status.

Since 2015, the Municipality of Tirana has invested in the construction and reconstruction of nurseries and kindergartens with European standards. These investments have brought significant improvements in the quality of services and conditions for children and educators.

The improvement of conditions in nurseries and kindergartens by the Municipality of Tirana has significantly increased parents' demands for attendance at public preschool institutions.
