Prime Minister Edi Rama traveled to Basel this Sunday morning. 

His presence in Basel coincides with the development of Art Basel, one of the most prestigious contemporary art events worldwide, where the head of the Albanian government is part of the official program.

Rama's trip takes place as protests against his government in Albania have entered their third week.

Thousands of citizens have taken to the streets in opposition to the investment project in Zvërnec, demanding the resignation of the government and a review of decision-making related to this project.

According to the official program of Art Basel, Rama is included in the public section "Parcours" with his artwork titled "Societe A".

It is a monumental sculpture created based on drawings and sketches that he created during his tenure as prime minister, often based on official government documents.

The exhibition organizers describe the work as a combination of political life and artistic practice, where drawings made during meetings, gatherings, and work processes are transformed into a large-scale sculptural object.

Rama's artistic project is based on a process that starts with hand-drawn sketches, continues with modeling through 3D printing and ends with casting in bronze. The result is a biomorphic structure over two meters high, conceived as an open space for public meeting and interaction.

The sculpture is placed within the Parcours exhibition, while a series of original drawings made by Rama on official documents, work calendars and other materials used during his institutional activity are also presented alongside it.
