Minister Nufi at the State Department: We are strengthening Albania-US cooperation in defense

Strengthening cooperation between Albania and the United States in the field of defense was at the center of the meetings that the Minister of Defense, Ermal Nufi, held in Washington with senior officials of the US Department of State.

Nufi met with the Deputy Assistant Secretary for European and Eurasian Affairs, Sonata Coulter, as well as the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Political-Military Affairs, Rachel Schiller.

Through a post on social media, the minister announced that during the talks, cooperation within NATO and new opportunities for expanding bilateral relations in the defense sector were discussed.

"We advance cooperation in the NATO Alliance and new opportunities for advancing our bilateral relations in the field of defense," Nufi wrote.

The meetings at the US State Department come within the framework of Nufi's visit to the US, where he also participated in the Bilateral Defense Consultations held at the Pentagon. During which, the strengthening of the strategic partnership between Albania and the United States was discussed.
