Renowned Albanian actor, Bujar Asqeriu, has expressed public support for the ongoing protests against the government and the demands for the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama.
"I am here, dear friends, dear young men and women, in absolute support of your peaceful, painful, courageous, brave protest.
Migjeni would say: 'Youth, youth, tell me the most beautiful song you know!' And you are weaving and singing the song of freedom. You are singing the song of resistance. You are singing the song of courage.
"You are the future of this country. You will make Albania the most beautiful, strongest and most powerful in the Balkans and in Europe. For this, I congratulate you and honor you immensely," he says.
The actor then focused on the political situation in the country, stating that Albania is at a historic moment and that for years it has been damaged by political clashes and by spies, patronizers, who, as he said, "have stuck their noses everywhere to divide this people, to make them hostile to each other. They have introduced enmity into families, into society, everywhere."
At the end of his message, the well-known actor called on the protesters not to retreat and to continue their resistance.
"Stand still and do not move. Do not be afraid, as you have stood, because victory is with you. I embrace you all with much love," he concluded.
