The Vlora Seaport Captaincy prohibits the navigation of small and fishing vessels
The Vlora Seaport Captaincy has decided to suspend navigation for today within the Bay of Vlora for small vessels and fishing vessels.
Through a statement, the Vlora Port Authority emphasizes that this decision comes due to deteriorating weather conditions.
Meanwhile, it has been decided that international maritime transport ships will continue to operate normally according to their respective destinations.
The announcement also states that an improvement in the weather situation is expected after 08:00 on 31.08.2025.

The Vlora Seaport Captaincy, due to deteriorating hydrometeorological conditions, has decided to suspend navigation within the Bay of Vlora for small vessels and fishing vessels for this Saturday.
Announcement on marine hydrometeorological conditions dated 30.08.2025
Based on the forecast for the deteriorating hydrometeorological situation outside the Bay of Vlora, during 30.08.2025 starting at 12:00 on 30.08.2025, the hydrometeorological conditions will be in the SOUTH-SOUTHEAST direction at a force of up to 5-6bft with wind speeds of up to 10-15m/s and wave heights of 1.00 to 1.50 meters, we request:
1. IT IS PROHIBITED TO ISSUE A LAUNCH PERMIT FOR SMALL FLOATING VESSELS AND FISHING VESSELS WHICH WANT TO OPERATE OUTSIDE THE BABY OF VALORA IN THE OPEN SEA, STARTING FROM 10:00 ON 30.08.2025.
2. ALL OPERATORS OF SMALL VESSELS AND FISHING VESSELS OPERATING WITHIN THE GULF OF VLORA AND HIMARA SHOULD TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION THE HYDROMETEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS AND TAKE MEASURES FOR THEIR SAFETY.
3. IN ORDER TO PREVENT ANY UNEXPECTED SITUATIONS DUE TO ATMOSPHERIC CONDITIONS, WE REQUEST THE COOPERATION OF ALL ENTITIES AND INSTITUTIONS ACTIVATING IN THE MARITIME FIELD, TO TAKE ALL NECESSARY MEASURES TO SECURE VEHICLES IN THE PORT AND INCREASE THE READINESS OF THE CREW ON VESSELS.
4. International maritime transport vessels will continue to operate normally according to their respective destinations.
5. The improvement of the deteriorated hydrometeorological situation for small vessels and fishing vessels will be after 08:00 on 31.08.2025.
