Miranda B., who is a suspect in the "Sky Ecc" trial with 124 defendants in Belgium in connection with an international criminal organization active in drug trafficking, contested the charges against her on Monday before the Brussels Criminal Court.
She admitted that she had kept "a love relationship" with the Volon resident Eridan Munoz Guerrero, who has taken the last name of the Colombian woman, one of the suspected organizers of the case, who is suspected of making money transfers.
Miranda B. admitted to having made ten money transfers to Eridan Guerrero for a value of 100,000 to 200,000 euros. “Eridan asked me to do something for him urgently. I did it without thinking,” she said.
The defendant explained that the 20 thousand euros found in her house in Tirana, Albania, were the fruit of her twelve years of work. She justified herself for not putting them in a bank account because "in Albania we pay a lot in cash".
She admitted to the court that she had opened six bank accounts, while making sure she used only one. "In Albania, every time you change jobs, you have to open one," she explained.
The defendant assured that she no longer had anything to do with Eridan and that she was aware of the latter's activities, as well as the origin of the sums of money he asked her to transfer, after reading the file. "I knew he worked in construction. I thought that's where the money came from. We had an intimate relationship, but I didn't want to ask him questions,” she explained.
