Aslan Hasbayrami

An Albanian drug dealer has been sentenced to prison after he was caught with cocaine while driving a vehicle without a driver's license.

Asllan Hasbajrami was driving a vehicle without a license or insurance in Preston Road, Brighton, when his vehicle came to the attention of patrolling officers.

When they were stopped, the officers noticed that the 21-year-old became nervous.

He gave a false name to officers and produced false identification.

Police found cash, two phones and 16 doses of cocaine inside the vehicle.

Hasbayram was charged with distribution of a Class A drug, driving without a license, driving without valid insurance and obstructing or resisting arrest.

At the Court of Appeals on January 12, he pleaded guilty to the charges and was sentenced to 18 months in prison.

Hasbajrami will face deportation to Albania after his prison sentence.
