Interior Minister Albana Koçiu reacted through a post on social media, following her visit to the QSUT, where she went to closely examine the condition of the officers who were injured during today's opposition protest.
"In the Burn-Plastics service at QSUNT, next to State Police employees who were injured by Molotov cocktails barbarically thrown at them.
"Ledio 26 years old, Kreshniku ??38, Enesi 21, Klevi 27, Bledari 27. Molotov cocktails, homemade bombs filled with fuel, stones, everything with the sole purpose of hitting and violating those in charge of duty were used against them and their colleagues," the minister writes.
She further stated that the protesters who hit and attacked the officers during the protest were not protesters but criminals and that this was an "attempted murder." Therefore, she demanded a strong reaction from the relevant institutions regarding this.
"I want to make it clear! Those who attacked police officers are not protesters. They are organized criminals. When you attack with such means, you do it knowing that the consequences can be very, very serious.
This is not a protest, these are not clashes. This is called attempted murder.
"I expect law enforcement institutions to react strongly to this repeated violent behavior by some criminal elements instigated by persons with immunity who encourage violence," Koçiu further writes.
Earlier, the minister went to the QSUT and in a statement to the media said that the violence against police officers in the opposition protest was barbaric and that the only goal was to rape the officers. She added that "this is the second time in fact, which is directed against state police officers and the leader of this protest, Sali Berisha, is the only one who can organize such violent protests against police officers who are parents, fathers, brothers and who at the end of the day, just like journalists, do their job."
We remind you that after today's protest, the Police announced that as a result of the attack with Molotov cocktails, pyrotechnics and hard objects, a total of 14 officers were injured.
