Interior Minister Albana Koçiu, in a reaction on social media to today's protest in front of the Prime Minister's Office, said that State Police employees were attacked and injured. Koçiu emphasizes that no agenda can justify the use of violence, reports A2CNN.

"The right to protest, for the umpteenth time, was violated by a group that chose force over words, attacking, raping and injuring State Police officers. Violence can never be a tool and no agenda justifies its use."

"Gratitude to every police officer who showed professionalism and prudence in the face of every provocation. The police will always be on duty to guarantee the right to protest, as well as to guarantee the safety of every citizen and public property and citizens," the minister said.

The chairman of the Socialist Party Parliamentary Group, Taulant Balla, also reacted to the opposition's protest.

In a public reaction on social media, Balla said that violence and fire are being used to hide political failure.

"Two words about the end of the owl protests, where police officers and institutions are attacked. Perhaps to hide their failure with smoke and fire. There will always be freedom to protest in our Albania. But there should not be freedom to hit or mistreat those who have chosen to serve in protecting the security of citizens," he said.

Balla emphasized that the role of the State Police is essential for order and security, requiring reflection from society and reaction from justice.

"We must protect those who protect us and we must take care of those who serve the security of citizens. This is what a just and normal state does," he declared.

According to Balla, the police uniform carries a great responsibility, while justice must "make an example" of people who attack officers.

"The blood of the police is the blood of the state. Whoever raises a hand against a police officer has raised a hand against the state," Balla stressed.
