"You killed me"/ The 61-year-old man in Shkodra was killed by the headman after he discovered the cannabis plot! The evidence is revealed

61-year-old Piro Prroni was killed with two bullets after a fight over a plot of cannabis in the village of Abat i Shala in Shkodra. 

The perpetrator of the murder, Ndoc Macaj, who turned himself in to the police, turns out to be the headman of the village of Abat, and also the cousin of the 61-year-old. His testimony has shed light on the entire dynamics of the murder and the clash between them over 80 cannabis plants that were cultivated on the land owned by the perpetrator of the murder, in the area known as "Pushime".

Maçaj admitted to the crime, but in his testimony, which Shqiptarja.com uncovered from the file, the perpetrator claimed that he committed the murder in self-defense.

He confessed that during the checks he found cannabis cultivated on his land and at this moment he was confronted by his cousin with whom he started an argument that ended in murder.

"I have been the headman of the village of Abat for two years. Given that due to the function and responsibilities I have over the control of the village territory on August 28, 2025, at around 5:00 PM, I went out to check the area in the place called "Pushime", as in recent days I had seen suspicious movements in this area and I was worried if someone might be doing something illegal, on my land, as I have my mountains in this place or in other places, as the law has charged me to check inside the village. The moment I arrived at the place called "Pushime", I saw a plot, cultivated with about 70-80 narcotic Cannabis Sativa plants...", he confessed.

According to the alleged perpetrator's testimony, the 61-year-old approached him with a cutting tool, a sickle, and asked him "what are you doing here?" After an argument about cannabis cultivation, Maçaj says the 61-year-old approached him with the cutting tool and told him he would kill him.

In his testimony, Macaj stated that the 61-year-old was approaching him with threatening tones and a cutting tool in his hand, and in self-defense, he fired once in the air. However, according to his testimony, Prroni continued to threaten him and then shot him in the left arm.

"At this moment, a fellow villager whom I know by the name of Spiro Prroni (Piro Prroni) came and addressed me with the words: "...What are you begging for here...?"

I said: "...this is my land and I came out to check it out and what is going on here and who is...?".

He told me: "...We're one on one, if he strangles you..." And at that moment he took out his knife (cutting tool) and approached me, I walked 2 (two) steps behind him and said: "...Don't come near me...".

But he came closer to me again and said: "..We are alone..." At this moment I took out the pistol and said again: "...Don't come near me..." While he came closer again.

"...I kept retreating, while he was getting closer and closer to me. At this moment, I fired a bullet into the air to scare him, but he came closer again, raised his shirt to kill me. In these conditions, I pointed the gun at him and hit him in the left arm, in the shoulder...

There he said to me: "You killed me...

He walked a few steps back, and sat on the ground. From that moment on, he did not move again. Then I went down to my apartment and notified several people, including Piro's cousin and the police officer who is Piro's cousin, and I told them about the incident that had occurred. Then they called me from the police and I waited for them at the apartment until they arrived, where I handed them the weapon with which I committed the crime and they accompanied me to the police premises," he testified.

The file also shows how Macaj surrendered.

"I live in Dukagjin all the time and during the winter there are only two of us living there, so I carried a gun but never for this purpose. Today I was in danger with it and I didn't want this to happen. Piro Prroni, I have a distant cousin but it's not like I had any contact with him. There was no one else, it was just the two of us. I saw that in addition to the shirt in his hand, he also had a knife in his belt, above his shirt, as he had placed it in a visible position.

"He came so close to me that he took out his shirt and tried to hit me with it, at this moment I immediately took out the pistol, which I had with me, and shot in the air, shooting at first just to scare him and make him go away."

But Prroni did not retreat and continued to approach me again, he again raised his shirt and tried to hit me, at this moment I shot him straight, where the bullet hit him in the chest. There he said to me: "... You killed me... After this moment he walked 2-3 steps back, sat on the ground and lost consciousness, where he later lost his life", the suspected perpetrator of the murder testified.

After conducting investigations into the murder, the police discovered the drug parcel and destroyed all the cannabis roots. Five of them were seized as material evidence for laboratory examination.
