In October 1992, the Assembly decided to remove the immunity of deputy Ilir Meta, following the request of the General Prosecutor's Office, to investigate Meta, for the criminal offense of illegal deprivation of liberty in the clashes in the town of Poliçan. On February 11, 2011, the Assembly removed the immunity of deputy Ilir Meta, opening the way for the General Prosecutor's Office to charge him with the criminal offense of corruption, after the publication of the video scandal with Dritan Prifti. In both cases, Meta escaped the punishment of justice.

11 years later, Ilir Meta finds himself without immunity, this time due to the end of his term as President, while SPAK has officially registered at least two criminal proceedings against Meta and his wife, Monika Kryemadhi, which he decided for five years at the head of LSI.

Ilir Meta has lost his immunity in the face of justice, but not all his privileges. Meta will be guarded until 2027 by the Guard of the Republic. Meanwhile, according to the law, the apartment where Meta will live with his family will be guarded by the Guard until July 2024. Also, Meta will receive 3 monthly salaries after leaving the Presidency as well as 50% of his salary until 2025. Meta will keep the diplomatic passport and can use the VIP lounge at "Mother Teresa" Airport.

Meta files in SPAK

In the middle of June 2022, SPAK registered the anonymous criminal proceedings after the report referred by former MP Halit Valteri against Ilir Meta for lobbying with corruption money in the United States of America. In recent days, another scheme of abuse by Ilir Meta and Monika Kryemadhi has been published, including Monika's brother, Drini Kryemadhi, his mother Fatima Kryemadhi, Drini's father-in-law (Nuri Peti), the construction company Tirana DKK with nephew: J61902088N as well as car inspection company SGS, favored by Meta when he was in power.

Drini Kryemadhi and his mother Fatima Kryemadhi, who is said to have sold onions in the Student City, financed LSI and Monika Kryemadhi. Selling onions is an honorable job, but you can't make millions!

On the other hand, Drini Kryemadhi was paid by the vehicle inspection concession company SGS, an abusive concession monitored by Ilir Meta through Edmond Haxhinastos, not taking measures for the non-fulfillment of contractual obligations by the company.
