"They convinced me to take hormones", Transgender Luana Myrto, LGBT receives billions for the protection of people, but does nothing. The association reacts

A strong debate and serious accusations were made on the "Review" show on Euronews Albania, where transgender Luana Myrto was a guest.

In a direct confession, Myrto said she felt manipulated and abused by representatives of the LGBT+ community, claiming that after promises of support, she was faced with deception, threats, and psychological pressure.

"They took me from my family, the LGBT, they put me in a shelter. I was in the top 10 in grades, in high school and they promised me that they would put me in school and they left me... My concern was that I wanted to continue school and they promised me that I would continue school, and they promised me that we would continue school and they took me and took me to this LGBT shelter under age. The family was poor and did not allow me to continue school. It happened in 2018, I was 14 years old. I would have knocked somewhere else and not at these people, you understand me. I would have listened to my family more. I was without support, because these people find these things, this is where it starts. That they catch these things in their nets. You are in the wrong body, we do not see you as a woman, until you take hormones and all those who work as sex workers because of this, they left them behind the door and only put in those who were new products. They took them from 16 years old, 14 years old, "13 years old," she said.

According to her, the real goal of some members of this community was financial gain in the name of protecting LGBT people, while in reality, according to her, many of them ended up unprotected and abandoned.

"They promised us that they would buy us phones, that they would provide us with better conditions, but they didn't even give us used clothes! They left me to my fate and if I had stayed there, I would have turned to prostitution, just like they did to so many others," she added in strong emotional tones.

Myrto stated that she later chose to leave and transfer to another association, claiming that she made this decision to escape a system that, according to her, exploits vulnerable people for economic and political gain.

"They take billions in the name of protecting the community, but they don't set up any real institutions to help people who are truly in need. These people should be behind bars," Myrto concluded.

On the other hand, in the statement from the LGBT association, it is stated that Myrto has made her situation public by denying the fact that she was taken away by her parents. The association underlines that Luana was sheltered in the center with her consent, and further states that the case was treated with priority and emergency protective measures were established by the State Social Service for Luana Myrto.

Luana, në gjendjen civile është e regjistruar si E. Myrtollari, i datëlindjes XX/07/1999. Duke qenë se ajo e ka bërë vetë situatën e saj publike, ne kemi detyrimin të sqarojmë opinionin publik mbi rrethanat dhe procedurat ligjore të ndjekura për menaxhimin e rastit.

Luana, ka përfituar nga shërbimet e Strehës në tre periudha të ndryshme: në vitin 2015, në vitin 2018 dhe në vitin 2020.

Ndryshe nga sa është deklaruar në media, Luana nuk është “marrë” nga familja dhe futur në qendër, por vendosja e saj në shërbim ka qenë rezultat i një vendimi të institucioneve shtetërore për mbrojtje emergjente, në koordinim me strukturat përkatëse, përkatësisht Shërbimi Social Shtetëror Durrës dhe më pas nga Qendra e Specializuar “ARSIS”, pasi në atë kohë ishte 16 vjeç dhe në situatë të lartë rreziku.

Në atë periudhë, vlerësimi zyrtar i kryer nga institucionet shtetërore identifikoi një rrezik real për shfrytëzim dhe trafikim, për shkak të qëndrimit jashtë mjedisit të sigurt familjar dhe kontakteve me të rritur që mund të cenonin mirëqenien e saj. Për këtë arsye, rasti u trajtua me prioritet dhe u vendosën masa emergjente mbrojtëse nga Shërbimi Social Shtetëror, pasi nëna e saj hoqi dorë nga përgjegjësia prindërore dhe kujdestaria ligjore, duke firmosur formalisht përpara një noteri publik.

Me referim nga strukturat shtetërore dhe me pëlqimin e vetë Luanës dhe , ajo u strehua në qendrën tonë për një periudhë provizore dhe përjashtimore tre mujore, derisa institucionet përgjegjëse të siguronin një zgjidhje përfundimtare. Saktësojmë, se strehimi ishte i përkohshëm dhe përjashtimor sepse qendra “Streha” është e specializuar të punojë vetëm me individë mbi 18 vjeç. Kjo zgjidhje e përkohshmë erdhi me kërkesën e institucioneve përkatëse, të cilat ishin në pamundësi kapacitetesh për të adresuar menjëherë, në atë moment, nevojat komplekse të Luanës.

Në vijim, në bashkëpunim me autoritetet dhe zinxhirin institucional, ajo u transferua pranë qendrës “Tjetër Vizion”. Kjo qendër është një institucion i specializuar në punën me të mitur. Pjesë e planit individual të ndihmës për Luanën ishte edhe shkollimi i saj. Kështu, ajo është regjistruar në një gjimnaz të qytetit të Elbasanit.

Pas përfundimit të studimeve dhe pas arritjes së moshës madhore, Luana është paraqitur me vullnetin e saj të plotë disa herë në qendrën tonë për të kërkuar mbështetje, dhe çdo herë është trajtuar sipas protokolleve profesioniale të mbrojtjes dhe mirëqenies, përfshirë pagesën e një pjese të tarifave universitare që mundësuan shkollimin e saj. Ne kemi ofruar asistencë strehimi, mbështetje psikosociale dhe orientim drejt shërbimeve të tjera kur kjo ka qenë e nevojshme.

We emphasize that the “Streha” center is committed to preserving the confidentiality and dignity of each beneficiary, but in cases where information is published by the beneficiary himself and creates public concern and indications for initiating criminal prosecution, we have an institutional responsibility to provide our explanations on the way the case is handled. Each of our actions regarding case management is documented in detail in the individual file of the persons receiving services, kept in the form required by law and applicable regulations and easily verifiable.

We strictly adhere to all procedures followed in the management of the E. Myrtollari case and invite the Prosecutor's Office and criminal prosecution bodies to immediately initiate the necessary investigations, so that transparency and the rights of the person are fully protected, but without under any circumstances compromising the security, seriousness and functionality of our institution. The "Streha" Center will continue to provide support with professionalism, in accordance with legal obligations and without prejudice to any LGBTI+ person who is in a situation of risk or need," the statement says.
