Regarding the incident that happened yesterday, in the Youth Sector, Durrës, where an 18-year-old AK citizen lost his life, who jumped into the sea to save two minor children and his brother, we clarify that:

Following the investigative actions carried out under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office at the Durrës Judicial District Court, to clarify the circumstances of this event, it has resulted that the coast guard, citizen I. Sh. according to the regulations, he had put up the red flag, the warning sign not to enter the sea, as the waves were high.

Despite this, children have gone into the sea, risking their lives.

After a few minutes, the minors asked for help from a citizen who was sailing with a pedal boat, near them.

To help the children, the coast guard and the AK citizen, the brother of one of the minors, entered the sea.

After the help given, the children were taken to the shore, while the 18-year-old AK was unable to get out as he drowned due to high waves.

The police officers of DVP Durrës and DVKM Durrës immediately intervened and after about 50 minutes, the dead body of the AK citizen was found and pulled out of the water.

In the direction of the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of the Durrës Judicial District, work continues on the complete documentation of the circumstances of this event.
