Statistics from the General Directorate of Road Transport Services

The General Directorate of Road Transport Services has made an analysis of the year 2023, while emphasizing that the headline of the last year was the significant increase in tourism, but that also affected the increase in the number of vehicles in motion and road traffic.

The statistics for the year 2023 show that: 2.74 million foreign vehicles have entered the Albanian territory, adding to the road traffic in Albania +30,034 vehicles per day in circulation. The active fleet of domestic and foreign vehicles in total is calculated at 897,833 vehicles, or 51% more compared to 2018.

Meanwhile, despite the increased traffic on Albania's roads, compared to 2018, the number of road accidents decreased by -22.4%. Even the number of victims from road accidents has decreased by 10.3% with a decrease in the mortality index for 10,000 vehicles by -41.7%!

???????The rate of motorization in Albania is 314 vehicles per 1,000 inhabitants or 55% more compared to 2018!

????The number of new registrations increases with +78,157 vehicles, +30% compared to 2018!

?????????️The number of kilometers traveled per year increases by +92% compared to 2018!

Despite the increased traffic on Albania's roads, compared to 2018:

 ????????????The number of road accidents has decreased by -22.4%!

????️The number of victims from road accidents has decreased by 10.3% with a decrease in the mortality index for 10,000 vehicles by -41.7%! ⬇️

????The number of citizens involved in road accidents has decreased by -27.3%, with a decrease in the index of accidents per 10,000 vehicles by -48.5%! ????

???? POSITIVE RESULTS do not fall from the sky! They are achieved with WORK! ????

While road accidents DECREASE, PROVE that this SUCCESS would not be possible without the following factors:

???? Traffic Culture, with activities and educational programs across the country!

???? More efficient traffic control and stronger and more transparent measures!

???? Driving license most deserved!

???? Safer road vehicles!

???? Better roads and signage!

With the desire and intention that the year 2024 marks other positive achievements in terms of developments in road traffic, we work towards the mission of guaranteeing safer vehicles and more responsible drivers, for the fulfillment of this goal with a long-term effect! ✅
