Today, the Territorial Reform Commission held discussions with representatives from the Ministry of the Interior and dependent institutions related to the issue.

During the discussions, two representatives of the Macedonian Community in Pustec and Gollobordë also spoke.

Vasil Sterjovski, Chairman of the SONSE Association, said that the name of the Pustec Municipality should be changed and be called the Prespa Municipality since the National Park is also located there. Meanwhile, on the other hand, Edmond Osmani, under the chairman of the MOS Association, requested the support of the deputies that Golloborda becomes a municipality, as it would help them in the development of commercial relations.

Discussion in the Commission:

Vasil Sterjovski:  Respecting the fundamental rights of minorities is an example of democracy for a country. We ask you to take into account the rights of the Macedonian minority so that Pustec Municipality remains a municipality again, Pustec is known as the area of ​​Prespa, this is where the Prespa National Park is, and there was a request in 2012 that the new municipality should be called Prespa Municipality. , but the Assembly did not approve it then.

Edmond Osmani:  Golloborda consists of 25 villages, it is an area of ​​55 km with Bulqiza, but they did not count those km as it takes 3 hours to arrive. We are far from commercial areas for production to sell in Bulqiza and Librazhd. You have the chance to help us make a municipality for the Golloborda area.

Dhurata Çupi:  I was once a relator for national minorities and I know this law well, that's why we called you, so that in the end this reform is comprehensive.

The draft law on the new administrative-territorial division is expected to be approved at the end of September. During the summer, there will only be hearings with experts, while the draft map will be worked on at the end of the summer season. The Territorial Group consists of 16 members, 8 from the majority and 8 from the opposition, including allies, Vangjel Dule and Mesila Doda. Socialists have stated that they oppose the increase in the number of municipalities and the division into regions. The Democrats say that the reduction of municipalities takes services away from citizens and that administrative areas should be added.
