An Albanian was arrested at noon yesterday (December 9) by the Greek side at the border point of Kakavija.

There was an international arrest warrant for him from the Italian authorities after he was sentenced to 20 years in prison for drug trafficking.

Greek media write that the Albanian was arrested while trying to cross the border to Albania.

He will be sent to the prosecutor's office of Ioannina, where the necessary procedures for his extradition to Italy will be continued, where he will serve his sentence.
