Sentenced to 14 years in prison for cocaine trafficking, the Supreme Court
Arber Cekaj

The Supreme Court has dismissed the appeal filed by Arbër Çekaj. The owner of the company "Arbi Garden" was found guilty of trafficking the largest quantity of drugs ever seized in our country, 613 kg of cocaine.

Çekaj was sentenced to 21 years in prison, but due to a summary trial, his sentence was reduced by 1/3 and he ultimately had to serve 14 years in prison.

Çekaj once again denied his involvement in the 2018 event, when 613 kg of cocaine coming from Colombia, which passed through Italy, was found inside a banana container, at the Port of Durrës and then at Çekaj's warehouse.
