Elmir Tufa was arrested today in Fushë-Kruje, accused of being the author of the murder of Shkëlzen Kastrati, an event that happened in 2021.

The herd was handcuffed during an action by the "Operational" police forces in Fushë-Kruje.

Tufa was wanted for three years before participating in the murder of Kastrati on February 1, 2021 in Fier.

Elmir or Ermir Tufa from the village of Buran i Krujës, according to the investigations of the prosecution, turns out to be the author of the armed robbery of 19 thousand euros, which happened on September 25, 2018 in the "Pavarësia 2" neighborhood in Vlora.

40-year-old Shkëlzen Kastrati was executed near the Circle in the village of Sheq in Fier. He was shot by a "Range Rover" type car, which after the murder was found burned in Mbikalimi i Baltza.

It is suspected that the event is related to an old clash between the Binjaku and Kastrati families, due to the involvement of his brother, Klementi, in a revenge saga with Ermal Binjaku. In 2016, a similar assassination attempt was made on his brother at Ura e Mbrostari in Fier, but the bullets took the life of his friend, Denis Kasaj.

In the murder of Kastrati, Elmir Tufa and Albert Zaja are suspected to have been in the role of hired killers.
