Four young Albanians dead and one in a coma in the hospital is the balance of a tragic accident at work in a construction site in Hamburg, Germany, which happened on November 30.

Regional manager Andre Grundmann from the IG BAU union, in an interview with NDR 90.3, recently announced that he has opened a donation, which aims to help the relatives of the victims, reports German media.

"We have heard that residents of Hamburg have asked how they can help the surviving relatives of the dead construction workers. As the Industrial Construction-Agricultural-Environmental Union, we have set up a donation account and will transfer every cent that goes to this donation account to surviving dependents for support," Grundmann said.

The accident happened on Monday morning around 9:10 local time at the large construction site in the Überseequartier. A scaffold with several construction workers on it fell from the eighth floor into an indoor elevator shaft. It is still unclear why the pier collapsed. State Criminal Police specialists have started investigations into the causes of the accident.
