The two policemen Nikola Boljevič and Dragan Šcekič, arrested for the physical violence against Petraq Milos, former adviser to former Prime Minister Sali Berisha and now a member of the Freedom Party, at the Muriqani border point in Montenegro, were released by the Ulcinj Prosecutor's Office.
The prosecutor of the case decided that the two policemen will be investigated in a free state for the physical abuse of Petraq Milos and his son on January 15.
In front of the prosecutor, according to the Montenegrin media, Shçekiç, who in the published video grabbed Milo by the face, stated that he regretted it and that he was wrong. He said that the incident happened because Milo refused the police order.
Meanwhile, at the moment when their testimony was being taken before the Prosecutor's Office, a group of policemen were protesting in support of two colleagues. Two days ago, the Prosecutor's Office requested the arrest of two policemen, stating that they had violated the law.
The January 15 incident at the border, while Milo was returning to Albania after teaching at the University of Podgorica, caused strong political reactions.
Albanian parties demanded the resignation of the Minister of the Interior. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Dritan Abazovic said about the event in question that measures were taken immediately after the police officers performed actions beyond their competences.
