An Albanian living and working in Italy surrendered to the police, accused of causing an accident while drunk that resulted in the death of a 45-year-old local man, father of three and computer programmer, while also injuring the victim's wife and one of the children, who are being treated in hospital.
The 41-year-old, after the serious incident that occurred on Sunday, fled the scene in moments of trauma, not providing assistance to the injured person, who later died at the San Benedetto hospital.
The arrested person is AK, while the victim is Emidio Croce (pictured). The Teramo Prosecutor's Office has registered criminal proceedings and is conducting investigations, while the Albanian will also be charged with failure to provide assistance.
However, there is no trace of the other person who, together with the driver of the Mercedes Class A, who crashed into the Mercedes GLB SUV, in which the Croci family was traveling, fled to the surrounding villages.
According to the prosecution, the Albanian was driving while intoxicated.
The judges' file will soon include all the information necessary to reconstruct the circumstances and responsibilities behind the horrific accident: Croci, a computer programmer and father of three, died as a result of the serious injuries sustained in the accident.

In the car with him, after an evening spent at the "Al Braciere" restaurant, were his wife and one of his children, the youngest of whom was 11 years old.
The Mercedes GLB SUV, exiting the restaurant's private parking lot, was entering State Road 16 heading north when the car, driven by AK, collided with it at high speed, according to the reconstruction of the incident by the carabinieri who intervened to explain the dynamics.
Unfortunately, nothing could be done for the 47-year-old. However, his wife was hospitalized in Sant'Omero, where her condition is not worrying. However, the condition of his 11-year-old son is more serious and he was transferred to the Salesi Hospital in Ancona, where his life is out of danger.
He is being monitored for a head injury. Emergency medical services were provided immediately after the horrific crash. However, when paramedics arrived at the scene, the Mercedes A-Class driven by the 41-year-old Albanian was empty. Witnesses told the carabinieri that two people had struggled to get out of the car and fled into the surrounding villages.
The search began immediately. A large section of the highway was closed to traffic both to facilitate rescue operations and to find the two fleeing perpetrators, Italian media reported .
However, there was no sign of them until Sunday morning, when the Albanian driver turned himself in at the police station. The other person remains missing.
Meanwhile, the body of Emidio Croci was transferred to the morgue of the Teramo hospital, where it remains at the disposal of the judicial authorities.
