An Albanian citizen was found without signs of life in the police region of Kalkidha, 70 km north-east of Athens, it is about 52-year-old Kastriot Periku, from Skrapari.

According to the local police, the incident happened during the night hours of Thursday, July 20.

According to the press release of the police department of Kalkidha, the Albanian citizen was stopped by the police and kept in the dungeon to be sent to the court as a security measure.

In circumstances that are still unknown, he was found hanging with a sheet on the railings of the dungeon, he was immediately taken to the hospital, but the doctors could not save him.

Regarding the incident, the prosecutor's office has opened an investigation, while the policemen and the guard officer have been charged with violating the service rules.
