A gang that was involved in the cultivation and sale of the narcotic substance cannabis, led by two Albanian brothers, has been sentenced to 70 years in prison by British justice.
It is about a gang of 10 people, of which 6 are Albanians.
OCG, led by Albanian brothers Edmund and Eduard Haziri, carried out their criminal activity in South Derbyshire, North-west Leicestershire and East Staffordshire, where, according to investigations, they sold "class A" drugs.
The authorities clarify that as part of an "Eddie line" operation, a relative of the Haziri brothers, Gazmend Hoxha, would travel to London from his home in Leicester, to get the drugs and hide the proceeds from the sales, before than to return to the Midlands to resupply the gang's many merchants.
These dealers sold the drug, often wrapped in lottery tickets, to 145 customers a day, generating hundreds of thousands of pounds over the course of a year.
But the OCG was neutralized by British authorities in March last year when a team led by Derbyshire detectives carried out sting operations across the area, arresting the Haziri brothers and their inner circle.
The gang members were sentenced by Derby Crown Court respectively to:
