Four employees of the republican guard have been suspended from duty and a disciplinary investigation has been launched against them for failure to fulfill their duties while serving in the Assembly.

The suspension is related to the incidents that occurred in the Assembly during Thursday's session, where three deputies of the Democratic Party lit cigarette lighters in the hall as part of the opposition's action to hinder the work of the plenary session.

Sources of Voxnews.al confirm that an investigation by the Police Supervision Agency has been launched against the four guards.

They are being investigated for non-fulfillment or neglect of certain duties to prevent suspicious means in the premises of the Assembly.

In Thursday's session, deputy Saimir Korreshi lit several cigarette lighters, which caused fog in the hall. From the film footage, it can be seen that the democratic deputy takes the cigarettes out of the bags of deputies Lindita Metaliaj and Elda Hoti.

The three MPs were expelled from the ethics secretariat for ten days for these incidents.
