Arrest of officials in Cerrik

Five people have been arrested and another has been declared wanted, by order of the Prosecutor's Office of Elbasan, as they are suspected of having committed election crimes during the local elections of May 14.

Among those arrested is the director of the Cërrik Fire Service, Artion Taçi, as well as Alban Shima, the head of OSHEE in Cërrik.

Agiano Dinoshi, a specialist in the Municipality of Cërrik, was also put in handcuffs, suspected of forging documents. The latter appeared in the campaign alongside the candidate of the Socialist Party for this municipality.

The Police Surveillance Agency (Elbasan-Korçë Region) in cooperation with the Elbasan Local Police Directorate, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office of the Court of First Instance of Elbasan General Jurisdiction, executed the criminal decision of the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction Elbasan, which has imposed the coercive security measure "Arrest in prison" for citizens:

1.  Artion Taçi , 36 years old, with the duties of Director of the Fire Service in Cërrik Municipality, suspected of the criminal offenses of "Exercising illegal influence on persons exercising public functions" and "Using public function for political or electoral activity";

2.  Armand Gjoka , 43 years old, on duty as an employee of the Fire Department in Cërrik Municipality, suspected of the criminal offense of "Using public office for political or electoral activity";

3. Adnan Xhelili , 33 years old, with duties as an employee of the Fire Department in Cërrik Municipality, suspected of the criminal offense "Using public office for political or electoral activity";

4.  Alban Shima , 35 years old, in charge of OSHEE Cërrik, suspected of the criminal offense "Using public office for political or electoral activity";

5.  Agiano Dinoshi , 34 years old, with specialist duty in Cërrik municipality, suspected of the criminal offense "Forgery of documents".

Also, a wanted announcement was made for the citizen KV, 64 years old, suspected of the criminal offense "Forgery of documents".

Investigations within this proceeding continue with the aim of identifying other possible persons involved in illegal activity and bringing them to criminal responsibility.
