A 39-year-old Albanian in Italy has fallen into the hands of the police, as he is suspected of being a dangerous person of organized crime, Italian media reports.
It is about the citizen Binak Çela, otherwise known as Daniel Popescu. Çela had been wanted since 2018.
He had to complete a one-year and eleven-month prison sentence for possession of a weapon without a permit and theft.
Binak Çela was stopped after a routine road check, where after seeing the road patrol, the Albanian tried to change the direction of the vehicle, which led to the suspicions and pursuit by the police patrol. At the time of the stop, he justified himself as a tourist and did not know the roads. But the police check revealed his identity and put him in handcuffs.
Italian anti-mafia investigations confirm that he is very close to the criminal gang operating in the north of Rome, which is led by former boxer Petrit Bardhi and is considered one of the strongest in this city.
