The dead body of the 23-year-old Albanian Klajdi Bitri has left the Torrette hospital in Italy for Albania, where it will be taken to the last residence.
The young Albanian tragically lost his life during a fight in traffic, as he intervened to help his Italian friend who was being attacked by the 27-year-old Algerian Fatah Melloul. The latter shot Bitri with the spear of the sea rifle, causing his immediate death.
The coffin with the dead body left the hospital doors today covered with the Albanian flag. There were gathered hundreds of citizens, friends and acquaintances who, amid tears and applause, escorted him on his last journey to his homeland.
Klajdi was considered a young model who was perfectly integrated in Italy, working to support his younger brother and two parents who live in Lushnje.
