Albi Mecini, has refused to speak before the court of Fier, choosing to remain silent, and not reveal anything about his involvement in the seizure of 21 kg of tritol.

But the man who is suspected of two serious criminal events, has claimed before his lawyer that he has nothing to do with the tritol that the police found in the canal and not in his car.

Mecini was captured by the operational forces inside the vehicle, as it was located near the "Viva" station in Fier. On the day of the incident, Mecini was traveling in a rented car from Tirana towards Vlora, where he was going to rest.

He had with him an amount of money, his ID card and a bag with his personal clothes. During the investigations, it turned out that the car was rented in Tirana by the brother of Mecin, who had let Albit use it yesterday.

Contacted on the phone by "Ora News", Mecin's lawyer, Claudio Dhima, said:

“…the amount of tritol was not caught in my client's car. The explosive was found by the police thrown in a canal, 4-5 meters away from the place where Albi Mecini had stopped to perform his personal needs...".

As Mecini stood very close to the quantity of tritol, the police agents of Fier and Vlora intervened, arresting Mecini and seizing the bag with 21 kg of tritol divided into two packages, where two telephones were also installed.

Mecini denied in court his involvement with the amount of tritol, claiming that he would be there, as he was going to Vlora to rest.

But this evidence did not convince the court of Fier, which decided to set the security measure of "arrest in prison" for Albi Mecin and to declare Arafat Manërkolli and Ervis Cukali from Tirana wanted.

The amount of explosive material was suspected to be placed in the apartment or car of a well-known exponent of the underworld in Fier.

While the perpetrators made sure that the activation of the explosion was carried out remotely by remote control and on their way out, according to the prosecution, they would use a second car, which they planned to burn with gasoline.

According to police investigations, Mecini is suspected of being part of a criminal group that operates by committing paid murders in several cities of the country.

The leadership of this criminal group is believed to be carried out by Admir Tafilaj, a convict from Shkodra serving a life sentence.

Meanwhile, yesterday, the Saranda court ordered the security measure of "arrest in prison" for Albi Mëcinin and Sebastjan Lataj, as biological traces were found on them in the serious incident of the kidnapping and disappearance of Fatmir Sulovari and Leonard Theodhori.

It is about saliva samples fixed in several water canisters found in a flat in Nivica, Himara, where the "Benz" type car used in the kidnapping of Leonard Theodhori was hidden.
