A day after the attack that a Serbian paramilitary group carried out in Zveçan, taking the life of Sergeant Afrim Bunjaku, the Kosovo police during a media conference exposed the entire arsenal of weapons that they seized in the operation carried out in the Banjska monastery.
The police had announced earlier that the group with 30 members, described as terrorist by the government in Pristina, was equipped with a large amount of weapons.
The Special Unit has found hundreds of weapons of different types and calibers, uniforms and logistical equipment, including heavy caliber military weapons such as grenades, machine guns, rocket launchers, Kalashnikovs, explosives, etc. inside the monastery where the Serbs took shelter.
The Kosovar authorities suspect that some of the attackers may still be inside the territory of Kosovo, while those who have left have fled using the terrain. The action of the Kosovo police continues today.
"Professional units organized and supported politically, financially and logistically by Serbia. Those individuals, in addition to the skills and weaponry they possessed, also had heavy vehicles such as armored cars and tools with which they developed their operation.
In the exchange of fire, at least three of them were killed, while two others were arrested. 6 wounded terrorists are being treated in the hospital and we ask Serbia to immediately hand them over to the Kosovo authorities to answer to justice for their terrorist acts", said Minister Sveçla.
