On November 25, the Special Prosecutor's Office published the results of the action that discovered the laboratory with 430 kilograms of cocaine in Fier. 10 people have been arrested, while the investigation started in May of this year after the discovery of the cargo in Montenegro. The American, Montenegrin and Albanian authorities have been keeping an eye on the senders and carriers of the chemical fertilizer cargo where the cocaine was hidden. One of the financiers of the traffic is known to be Albanian.

From Colombia to Albania

The load of 24 tons of fertilizer was ordered by the company in the name of Zenel Červanak, the brother of the former socialist prime minister in January 2022, the month when he had opened the commercial activity at the beginning of 2022. The purchase value of the goods, i.e. 24 tons of chemical fertilizer, it was 18 thousand euros.

"From the verifications carried out about the Albanian citizen, it turned out that at the beginning of 2022, he had registered a business in his name with the object of activity, among others, "Import-export and wholesale and retail trading of chemical fertilizers and goods different, with an address in Tirana. "The request to buy this kind of amount of artificial organic fertilizer, and the opening of the firm was made in January 2022. The order was made in May 2022," said prosecutor Andan Xholi.
