
The General Directorate of Prisons has reacted by denying SPAK's statement, which said that Erion Veliaj's judicial status as "convicted" came from the certificate sent by them.
In a reaction to the media, the Prisons Directorate says that Veliaj is unconvicted in the Criminal Record.

In response to media interest, the General Directorate of Prisons announces that, in response to the request of the Special Prosecutor's Office against Corruption and Organized Crime, with letter no. 2215/prot., dated 12.02.2025, it has forwarded the confirmation of the judicial status for citizen EV, son of L. and Sh., born on 17.12.1979.
After verifications in the Criminal Record, he is found to be unconvicted and three acquittals have been issued against him.
We clarify that, in cases where historical verification is required, data on previous decisions, including acquittals or rehabilitation decisions, are also included, in accordance with applicable legislation.
