450 square meters of plants and fruit trees burned in Finiq, 2 people arrested

Saranda police arrested two people in flagrante delicto on suspicion of intentionally setting fire to a plot of land, which resulted in the burning of approximately 450 m² of vegetation and various fruit trees.

"As a result of the investigations conducted with the aim of identifying and bringing to criminal responsibility the perpetrators of intentional or negligent arson, the services of the Saranda Police Commissariat arrested in flagrante delicto citizens PG, 55 years old, resident of Saranda, and IR, 53 years old, resident of Finiq," the police announced.

"These citizens, on 05.07.2025, at around 12:00, in the village of Leshnicë e Poshtme, Finiq Municipality, are suspected of having intentionally set fire to a land area and as a result, around 450 m² of vegetation and various fruit trees were burned. The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Saranda, for the criminal offense of "Destruction of property by fire", committed in collaboration ", the police add.
