
During the last 24 hours, a total of 24 fires have been registered in several municipalities across the country, while 6 of them still remain active.
The Ministry of Defense says the fires have spread mainly to areas with bushes and low vegetation, burning about 7 hectares of land and causing material damage to several homes.
According to the data, outbreaks have been identified in these municipalities: Elbasan, Finiq, Delvinë, Selenica, Vlorë, Tirana, Vorë, Krujë, Has, Mat, Malësi e Madhe, Kurbin, Korçë, Poliçan and Gjirokastër.
The fire continues at the waste landfill in the Elbasan municipality, where work continues today to completely extinguish the fire.
The ministry says that yesterday's work focused mainly on dumping inert materials and encapsulating waste, while a group of experts was on site to measure air pollution. Operational forces will continue their work on the final extinguishing today.

Currently, the following outbreaks remain active:
* At the waste disposal site in the municipality of Elbasan, where work continues today to completely extinguish the fire. Yesterday, work mainly focused on dumping inert materials and encapsulating the waste, while a group of experts was on site to measure air pollution. Operational forces will continue work on the final extinguishing today.
* In the area between the village of Grazhdan, administrative unit of Livadhja, and the village of Malçan, administrative unit of Dhivër, municipality of Finiq. Today the situation appears calmer and the intensity of the fire has decreased. The hearth is being monitored remotely by 2 fire trucks with 6 firefighters and employees of the Forest Service in the village of Malçan.
* In the place called "Sotiran", between the villages of Tragjas and Dukat, Orikum administrative unit, Vlora municipality, a fire has been reported in an area of ??bushes and brambles. The Local Service of the Municipality of Vlora, with 1 fire engine and 3 firefighters, is at the scene, working to extinguish the flames.
* In the village of Bulticë, Vaqarr administrative unit, Tirana municipality, in an area of ??bushes and thorns. The unfavorable terrain makes it difficult to intervene with firefighting vehicles. Today, operational forces with the help of 40 forces from the Armed Forces will continue their work to bring the fire under control.
* In the mountainous area between the villages of Gjinaj and Domaj, Gjinaj administrative unit, Has municipality, in an area with pine forest. Difficult terrain and wind favor the spread of the flames, so the work to extinguish them continues.
* In the village of Zgërbonjë, administrative unit of Vërtop, municipality of Poliçan, in an area with bushes and thorns. This morning, the fire extinguishing operation resumed with 2 fire trucks and 7 firefighters.
The fires were recorded mainly in areas with bushes and low vegetation, where as a result about 7 hectares were burned.
In three cases – in the village of Marqinet (Vora municipality), on "Perlat Rexhepi" street (administrative unit No. 5, Tirana municipality) and in the village of Bulgarec (Korca municipality) – the fire has engulfed two apartments and a building, causing material damage.
34 fire engines, 399 operational forces and 53 heavy vehicles were engaged in the firefighting operations. The Armed Forces also contributed 40 personnel, 2 fire engines, 1 suction pump and 1 chain tractor.
According to the Institute of Geosciences, light local precipitation is forecast in several regions today.
Regarding the risk of fires, a "HIGH" level is expected in most regions. In the regions of Durrës, Korçë and Vlorë, a "MODERATE" level is expected, but locally also "HIGH" in certain areas such as: Durrës (south), Korçë (center) and Vlorë (north-center).
Civil protection structures are on full alert and are closely monitoring every situation on the ground.
