SPAK is monitoring online the lifestyle of the suspects it is investigating, as well as their inner circle.

This "Big Brother" is being applied according to this instruction that TCH has, where financial investigators are guided on how to discover the unjustified assets of persons under investigation for organized crime and corruption.

And as one of the methods of tracking assets are not only state databases, but also open sources.

Specifically, the monitoring and surveillance of social media accounts, blog posts, comments on forums, online photo galleries, and videos posted on YouTube.

These sources, it is mentioned in the instruction that TCH has, are used in particular to determine the circle of friends and interests that is the subject of the analysis, his lifestyle, places of entertainment and recreation, movable and immovable assets and vehicles that are actually used.

It is officially acknowledged that last year alone, SPAK seized 65 million euros in criminal assets and accounts, of which 36.7 million euros were transferred to the state with decisions that sealed their confiscation.

Preventive seizure cases are reviewed in the Special Court in Tirana behind closed doors.

Officially, the instruction acknowledges that, along with the criminal investigation against citizens, a financial or property investigation is also conducted in parallel.

Which means that anyone who falls under SPAK's investigations is subject to a financial profile, which is built by the prosecutor by analyzing their assets and lifestyle.

But lawyers claim that the anti-mafia law, which is being finalized with requests for preventive seizure, has put the family members of those under investigation, who have the burden of proof, in difficulty.

SPAK says that crime continues to invest dirty money in apartments, construction, olive groves, commercial units, luxury vehicles, expensive watches, gold, but also cryptocurrencies./TCH
