Fatbardha Hysi, the mother of the 43-year-old disabled man, Fabjol Hysi , who was brutally raped by two young men a few days ago in Lushnja, revealed yesterday that her son is still in intensive care and intubated at the Trauma Hospital in Tirana.

"If only they hadn't hit him in the head," she said.

"Fabjoli is in intensive care, intubated. The doctor who operated on him told me that they will remove the tube, reduce the medication to see how he reacts. They will start today and we will see how he is today and tomorrow. He has had no problems with children, he has not been bullied. He has had surgery in Greece since he was 15, he has suffered. He just wished they hadn't hit him in the head. He has friends, he has also gone to Radio Lushnja, he has helped his friends, he has not been bullied," said Fabjoli's mother.

She told News 24 that her son used to go to the mosque during these times after fasting and would also eat iftar there.

According to her, the incident occurred around 8:20 in the evening, and the motive is still unclear, but she says that the two perpetrators, Enea Korreshi (17 years old) and Irdi Nasufi (20 years old), may have harassed and bullied her son.

"The boy was at the mosque, he went every day to eat iftar. It was 8:20. They stay there, he had only gone out that night. I don't know if he knows them, they are teenagers. I don't know any of them, I only know the one with the last name Korreshi, not the other one. We don't live in the same neighborhood, we've been gone for 18 years. They haven't been to the mosque.  Fabjoli was observing Ramadan, he was eating iftar there. The mosque is 100 meters from the intersection, he was alone. His problem is that he can't hear or speak, he went to school in a madrasa, 8-year-old. He didn't have another school there. He is able to move, he doesn't have such problems. I don't know what happened, there was no conflict. They must have harassed and bullied him ," said the 43-year-old's mother.

Fatbardha Hysi states that Fabjoli did not react while being raped, otherwise two other people would have been injured.

"He didn't answer, because if he had answered, they would have been killed, they would have been covered in blood. The police will ask at the schools how those children are. How they respond, how they are with their friends. One is in the second year of high school, I don't know about the other one. The police haven't told us anything, I'm going to file a report, because I don't know anything," she said.

Among other things, Fabjoli's mother said that she only knows the 17-year-old's family, but none of them have apologized for the incident so far.

"The 17-year-old's family was not mentioned, at least they said they were sorry that this happened. I am also a mother, I know the social problems for children. That minor has been released from prison. I would say that the teenager's family should have come to me, because they know me. The 17-year-old's mother is also a teacher. I don't know the other person's family ," said Fatbardha Hysi.
