The "bombshell" statement/ Journalist: Vis Martinaj's phone rang
Ervis Martinaj

Chronicle reporter Keti Banushi has revealed details from the investigations carried out regarding the disappearance of the much-wanted Ervis Martinaj.

During a television interview, Banushi said that sources from the police have stated that Martinaj's phone rang outside of Albania. She emphasized that this is not officially confirmed information, but it is hinted that they have prompted the law enforcement bodies to be put into action to investigate a staged disappearance.

"It was initially said, but not in the framework confirmed by the police, that his phone rang outside Albania and this raised the suspicion that he might be alive. This has changed the approach of the prosecution and it was suspected that Vis Martinaj staged the disappearance. I am not saying that all these are true, we have them with sources and it is not that they are officially confirmed information. It is a matter that is kept very hermetic and no one gives information and we have to speak based on the information we have with sources", said the journalist.
