Edmond Pope

The murder of Edmond Papa a week ago in Tirana continues to remain without a perpetrator, while the testimonies of the people at the scene have revealed an unpleasant situation for the Tirana police. Although the owner of the bar where the incident happened called the police twice, in his testimony he said that the secretariat answered him.

On the day that the police directorate of Tirana recognized the new director but also the deputy director by his side during the afternoon hours, 49-year-old Edmond Papa was shot several times with a pistol in the Selita area.

Known as a businessman, he was sitting in a bar near his apartment when the hooded aggressor shot him, leaving him seriously injured. In his testimony, the owner of the bar, identified by his initials, said that the 49-year-old himself had told him that he was injured, while his sister-in-law took the car to transport him to the hospital since the ambulance was not coming.

The testimony of citizen V.Sh., owner of the bar where Edmond Papa was killed.

I was inside the bar and I was at the counter. I heard a noise and thought it was fireworks. I saw a person with a hood on his head and then I went from the counter to the door and at the entrance of the bar I saw the victim, who told me that he was injured and to call the ambulance. It was 16:25 and I called the number 129 and the secretary answered, I rang twice. They were not answering me and I went to the apartment of the victim's brother and there the victim's sister-in-law came out and I told her that the brother-in-law was injured. I went back to the bar and took off my sweatshirt and put it on the victim's head and put a towel on his wounds. His sister-in-law took the car to transport him to the hospital as the ambulance had not yet arrived, then the police came and then the ambulance took him to the hospital.

On the other hand, the 49-year-old's sister-in-law told how the Pope had arrived at home around 10 o'clock together with his mother.

The testimony of the victim's sister-in-law

At 10:00, mother-in-law and brother-in-law came home. They have come to Tirana with my brother-in-law's vehicle, as they were going to perform some medical visits for their mother-in-law. Around 16:15, my brother-in-law asked me to give my mother-in-law something to eat before he took her for a medical visit. When I was giving food to my mother-in-law and at that moment I heard shots. I remembered that it wasn't fireworks, but then the doorbell rang and it was the owner of the bar, he told me to call the ambulance because my brother-in-law was injured in his bar. I called the ambulance and then took my brother-in-law's vehicle to take him to the hospital, but then the police came and the ambulance took him away.

The police also interrogated the Pope's brother, who said that he had not seen any concern in the 49-year-old who was not guarding himself. As for the investigations, the police have not yet been able to discover the identity of the perpetrator, who, according to security cameras in the area, is suspected to have left on foot, reports A2.
