Residents reported gunshots, Police deny it: What happened at the Rjjoll protest?

The shootings that allegedly took place 4 days ago in the Rrjoll area continue to remain a "mystery", while residents express concern about the situation and disappointment with the State Police, which denied the serious incident.

In a statement to local media, resident Luçiana Kokaj reacted with irritation, saying that the State Police should investigate the incident as soon as possible and find out whether the gunshots were a threat to residents or to police officers.

Kokaj further emphasized that the Police should work to fully clarify the incident and trust their own officers and not the private company's guards.

"Since there were no gunshots, the State Police should explain to us why a police van with all its officers inside was driven to the coast? Why was a car coming from the coast stopped, and the citizens inside were escorted? The whole village saw them, they were picked up and taken to the police station. Let the Police explain this to us, because if they did not hear gunshots, why are these procedures being carried out?" said Luçiana Kokaj in her speech.

Residents of Rrjoll have raised their concerns about several gunshots that occurred a few days ago during residents' protests.

On the other hand, the Shkodra Blues have denied the incident, for which they have announced that from the testimonies received from those present at the scene, no gunshots have been confirmed.

"The Crime Investigation Specialists of the Shkodra Police Commissariat referred the materials to the Prosecutor's Office for notification of the fact, after yesterday citizen LK declared on social networks that she heard gunshots in the village of Rrjollë. Immediately, the Police services that were deployed in the village of Rrjollë conducted a search of the area, questioned the guards of the construction site of the nearby company and several citizens present on the coast, who declared that they did not hear gunshots," the Shkodra Police announced 4 days ago.

Meanwhile, in her speech, Rrjoll resident, Luçiana Kokaj, expressed certainty that the shootings took place and that the State Police is aware of this serious incident. Therefore, she demands that this incident be clarified, adding that neither she nor the residents of Rrjoll have ever lied.

"The residents have not lied on a single day since the first day. We have not lied that the land is ours. We have not lied that we were raped. We have not lied that we were taken by force by the Police forces. We have not lied that there were gunshots. After the Police statement, we feel even more threatened," said Luçiana.
