Arbër Veliaj, brother of the mayor of Tirana, Arbër Veliaj, was at SPAK premises for about 4 hours this Thursday.

"I came voluntarily to express my cooperation with this institution ," he told reporters.

Veliaj was questioned by prosecutors in his capacity as a person who has knowledge of the investigation launched against Erion Veliaj.


A few weeks ago, the Special Court of Appeals dismissed Arbër Veliaj's appeal regarding the inspections carried out by SPAK in December 2024, in his homes and businesses.

Meanwhile, on May 25, the Supreme Court accepted the appeal filed by Arbër Veliaj and decided that the case be returned for reconsideration to the Special Court of Appeal, to the same panel.

On July 23, the mayor of Tirana was officially indicted on several serious charges, including corruption, false declaration of assets, and money laundering. Recently, Veliaj has filed a request with the GJKKO to declare the investigations conducted by SPAK invalid.
