Ylli Zalla, a person wanted by the State Police in connection with the assassination attempt that occurred in November last year in Rinas, where Gilmando Dani and Muçi Shaljani were killed, has reacted again from the run, denying any involvement in this event.
While the State Police conducted a series of searches in his apartment, Zalla appeared at his home, where he spoke to journalist Spartak Koka and gave his version of the event, insisting that it had nothing to do with the Rinas assassination.
He claims that at the moment the execution occurred he was in his apartment in Fushë-Krujë, while he then left for several hours towards Patok and was only informed about the event after he returned and heard the news.
Zalla states that his movements can be verified through security cameras in the area, adding that police searches of his apartment and premises have not found any compromising evidence.
"Nothing connects me, I have no connection at all. I have only seen the footage on TV. I do not know the killers. I have not sold anyone a weapon or a car. The state knows why they come to me, to cover their affairs. The head of the area knows," said Zalla, while further declaring that he has been targeted not only by the authorities, but also by people connected to Emiliano Shullazi, who was also a good friend of Gilmando Dani.
According to Zalla's claims, these people went to his apartment and asked him to swear that he had nothing to do with the assassination.
"I will surrender, let the truth come out and the Rinas incident be clarified. They have put me in enmity. The state has put me in enmity with the Rinas incident. People have come to me to swear by custom. People have come to me to swear by manhood. I have sworn as he wants, because I have nothing to do with this matter," Zalla says, among other things, as he further raises strong accusations against the State Police, claiming that they are collaborating with criminal groups.
He stated that he was made aware that large sums of money had been offered for his elimination, claiming that this was done to close the assassination file without revealing the real perpetrators.
" The state should bring them to justice and not rush me. I have discovered privately that the state is going to kill me. They paid the gangs 500 thousand euros to kill Ylli Zalla. The gangs with the state ," he said.
Excerpt from the interview:
Ylli Zalla: I have no connection to that event. Simply, on the 12th in Fushë-Krujë, the chief of the area, Burim Dragusha, asked me with another officer: "Where is your brother?" My brother was in prison. The next day, in the afternoon, between 1-2 o'clock, the police came to check me. The police came and a police officer took me: "We are at your house." They checked me. I was in Fushë-Krujë. In relation to the event, when it happened, I was with a Fati Alla, eating bread at my house. He ran to his house, I ran to a friend of mine in Patok. When I returned from Patok, I went out on the road to Krujë and there I found out that an event had happened in Rinas.
Then I went to Fushë-Krujë, to the city, had coffee and came home. When the incident happened, I was at home. The cameras are at the factory. I am 100% here, I have no connection. I don't know if the state took the cameras or not. After three days it turned out that they had seized a large arsenal of weapons. They didn't find anything in my house and huts. This is my hut, they didn't seize anything from me here. They came here on the 13th-14th. I wasn't at home at all, I left because I had my own business. A Crime Chief picked me up. I said: "Come and pick me up, I'll wash the car", and I came. "Come on, I'm coming", he said. When I come from the back road, I see the police. They have checked.
Spartak Koka: When did you find out that you were being accused of Rinas?
Ylli Zalla: I understood when the news broke. I didn't come here at all out of fear.
Spartak Koka: When it came out in the media that you were in a relationship with Rinas, what did you think?
Ylli Zalla: I was surprised. How is this possible? What did the state do to me like this? Burim Dragusha, two days ago, said to me: "Where is your brother?" "My brother is in prison," I told him. Today he asked me, he said: "I will make you swear an oath with 40 men." Burim Dragusha and Krenar Estrefi, the head of Crimes, in collaboration, they did it.
Spartak Koka: What connects you to Rinas' murder?
Ylli Zalla: I have nothing to do with it, I have no connection at all. I have only seen the footage on television. I do not know the killers. I have not sold anyone a weapon or a car. The state knows why they come to me, to cover their affairs. The chief of the area knows.
Spartak Koka: I saw you posting on social media, a video of you also came out on JOQ. Were you outraged?
Ylli Zalla: I was outraged that the state rushed to arrest me and kill me. In a private way... to close its file. It is not capable of clarifying the incident, of turning on the cameras. It turned off the lights in Rinas, as they say on TV. I have not had any conflict with Gilmando Dani and Shullazi. I know them, I may have met them in prisons.
I will surrender, let the truth come out and the Rinas incident be revealed. They have put me in enmity. The state has put me in enmity with the Rinas incident. People have come to make me swear by custom. People have come to make me swear by manhood. I have sworn as he wants, because I have nothing to do with this matter. I have neither sold nor will I sell. Let the state reveal the truth and not rush me. I have discovered privately that the state is going to kill me. They paid the gangs 500 thousand euros to kill Ylli Zalla. The gangs with the state.
