SPAK surrenders after 500 days, allows international lawyers to meet Veliaj

SPAK prosecutors have decided, after 500 days, to allow Erion Veliaj's international lawyers to meet with the mayor of Tirana.

It is learned that the decision was made a few days ago, despite the fact that none of the reasons why SPAK prosecutors themselves had repeatedly rejected requests for international protection to meet with Veliaj have changed.

Previously, Veliaj's international lawyers had requested a meeting with him several times, to document any violations committed against the mayor of Tirana in his investigative case and to take him to the International Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg.

It is unknown why after 500 days SPAK changed its mind and decided to allow the meeting between the lawyers and Veliaj.
