Turnaround in Aurora Tila's case: Ex-boyfriend admits he threw her off the balcony

The ex-boyfriend of Albanian Aurora Tila has admitted that he was the one who killed the 13-year-old, throwing her from the balcony of their apartment on October 25, 2024, an event that occurred in Italy.

According to Italian media, the 17-year-old, who was 15 at the time of the alleged crime, on Monday changed his plea of ??innocence in the death of his 13-year-old girlfriend, who fell from a building in Piacenza in October 2024, and confessed to pushing her from the balcony.

The 17-year-old changed his testimony during the appeal hearing, after being sentenced to 17 years in prison in a first-instance trial last year.

The young man made the statements via video link from the juvenile prison in Catanzaro. The court has meanwhile requested a report on his conduct in the institution serving the sentence, as he is reportedly also facing charges for other offenses.

The boy, whose name has not been released because he is a minor, admitted to killing Albanian Aurora Tila by throwing her from a balcony in the northern Italian city on October 25, 2024.

He changed his story and also apologized for his action and for waiting so long to admit it.

"With the confession, a circle is closed. But we hope that the Court will uphold the first-instance decision, which imposed an appropriate sentence," said lawyer Emilio Malaspina, representing the mother of the girl who was the victim of the femicide. The trial has been postponed until September 10.
