Serious accident on the Fier-Vlora highway

A tragic accident resulting in the death of one person was recorded this evening on the Fier-Vlora highway, near Novosela.

According to preliminary information, the victim, who has not yet been identified, was allegedly trying to cross the highway when he was hit by a vehicle. As a result of the strong impact, he suffered serious injuries to his entire body and died at the scene.

Preliminary sources indicate that the victim is suspected to be a homeless person, while his identity has not yet been confirmed by authorities.

Due to the accident, vehicle traffic on the Levan–Novoselë segment was blocked for a period of time, creating long queues of vehicles on both sides of the highway.

Immediately after the incident, numerous police forces, the investigation team, and emergency services arrived at the scene, carrying out procedural actions and working to fully clarify the circumstances of the accident.
