The Elbasan Police have suspended the head of the Traffic Section from duty, following a denunciation broadcast on the investigative show "Stop", for a suspected case of abuse of office, where he demanded 500 euros in exchange for unlocking the car.

The official announcement states that an administrative and criminal investigation has been launched against the employee in cooperation with the Police Supervision Agency and the Elbasan Prosecutor's Office.

Reaction of the Elbasan Local Police Directorate

Regarding the case broadcast on the investigative show "Stop", which dealt with a suspected case of abuse of office by the Traffic Chief at the Elbasan Local Police Directorate, we would like to inform you that:

The police officer, Commissioner OM, acting as Head of the Traffic Section at the Elbasan Police Department, has been immediately suspended from duty, pending the conclusion of the administrative and criminal investigation.

Meanwhile, the Directorate of Professional Standards at the General Directorate of the State Police, based on article 121, point d, of Law No. 82, year 2024, "On the State Police", has immediately launched an administrative investigation.

Regarding the case, we are cooperating with the AMP, since we are in a situation of suspicion of the commission of a criminal offense by the Police employee, OM, where the Police Supervision Agency has launched a criminal investigation, in cooperation with the Elbasan Prosecutor's Office.

The State Police thanks the media and citizens who denounce cases of abuse of office by its employees and once again invites them to continue reporting any such cases, guaranteeing an immediate and impartial response.
