The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has reacted after the protest held today in Tirana, congratulating the participating students and high school students. In a statement, he praised their resistance in the face of police intervention, while reiterating his call for the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama and the creation of a caretaker government.
"The courage and determination of the revolted students and high school students defeated in all cases the savage attacks of drug gangs, who tried to violently suppress the protest. Therefore, I have boundless gratitude for all the high school students and students, who with their courage and determination managed to become the de facto true masters of Tirana today."
"They showed the regime today that Edi Rama's resignation is the condition of all conditions for a new chapter in the country's social peace, for the creation of a caretaker government, so that Albanians can go to free and fair elections. In this context, I invite every citizen of this country and political forces to unite in support of the student revolt, in support of this revolt with the aim of removing the godfather and restoring the free vote of Albanians ," said Berisha.
Berisha also commented on the students' expulsion of Democratic MPs from the protest, claiming that it was an attempt by Edi Rama to disrupt the rally and that, according to him, Arlind Qorri activists were used.
"Today, Rama's attempt to divide the protest in the most disgusting way failed in the most shameful way. Those like the work of his 'blind man', who declare that they are protesting to improve Rama, they are the Iago of the student revolt. The revolted students, the high school students, have cut Edi Rama's ticket, they never believe that he can improve ," Berisha said.
"In this effort, there were also some miscreants engaged by the Police, but they received the deserved response ," said Berisha.
