Jasir Asani was one of the footballers who stood out for Albania during the Euro 2024 qualifiers. His goals helped the Reds and Blacks qualify for the second time in a European finals stage.
The 28-year-old forward, born in Skopje, has played 9 games with our national team. Asani conducted an interview for "Dueli Sportiv", where he talked about the moment when he realized that he would play for his country.
"When you leave for South Korea, you are further away from the national team, I thought that I will never be invited to the national team, because I left Europe and it is very difficult. Anyway, the work and sacrifice I have made, I deserved an invitation to show myself as a footballer, is it worth being part of the National Team or not.
Anyway, when the invitation came, I didn't sleep, there is no question, it's a very big emotion that you can't describe if you don't wear this jersey or an invitation from the National Team when you receive it," he said.
