Chermen Akhsarbekovich Valiev was born on December 10, 1998 in North Ossetia, Russia and is currently a freestyle wrestler competing at 74 kilograms for Albania.

For his native Russia, Valiev has won a world title and a European U23 title, a Russian national champion and is a multiple gold medalist in international tournaments.

Since moving to Albania in 2024, Valiev qualified to represent Albania at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris by placing third in the Olympic World Qualifying Tournament.

In the ten tournaments of the Olympic Games that Albania has participated, it took a Russian from North Ossetia to naturalize as red and black, to give Albania its first medal (bronze) in the history of the Olympics.
