Kokshi's successive failure to organize and meet the objectives in the Olympic Games continues. As in "Tokyo 2020", where Albania ranked last among the participating countries without winning any medals, the same story seems to be repeating itself in Paris 2024. In the Olympic Games taking place in France, seven of the eight athletes representing Albania have closed their competitions. The results so far have been modest and in some cases not up to expectations.
Wrestling was considered Albania's only hope for the first Olympic medal in history, but even this last one is turning out to be a disappointment. We remind you that after the wrestler Zelimkhan Abakarov who was eliminated in the quarterfinals of the free style up to 57 kg, Chermen Valiev was also eliminated today, August 9. The naturalized Russian was beaten 6-5 by Uzbekistan's Jamalov Razambek in the quarterfinals.
After the elimination of Abakarov and Valiev, tomorrow it is the turn of the other Russian, Islam Dudaev, to represent Albania in wrestling in the weight up to 64 kg. Dudaev is the only remaining hope for Albania to claim its first historic Olympic medal.
It should be noted that in the ten tournaments of the Olympic Games that Albania has participated in, it has not been able to secure any medals.
