At the next meeting of the Independent Media Commission (IMC) held yesterday, it was announced that this commission received and accepted a complaint from the entity "The Football Association Premier League Limited", which is related to the issue of piracy rights to broadcast this sports event in the territory of the Republic of Kosovo from the operators of the audiovisual service, "ArtMotion" owned by the Devolli brothers, "IPKO Telecommunications" and "KUJTESA".

Such a fact was made known by the deputy chief executive of the KPM, Faruk Rexhaj, who confirmed that "we have also received several complaints, that is, regarding the Premier League, the broadcast of the Premier League in the territory of Kosovo".

He added that the complaint came first from the Premier League and then from DigitAlb, which is the only entity that enjoys the exclusive right to broadcast the "Premier League" with Albanian commentary in the territory of Albania and Kosovo.

"Initially, a complaint came directly from the Premier League, then we also received a complaint from DigitAlb, who also filed a complaint through the Ministry of Trade and Industry, which forwarded it to the KPM as such", said Rexhaj.

"Someone from the staff of the monitoring office will go out and closely monitor all the sports channels, are the Premier League matches being broadcast or not, and then we will see how well they have complied with the complaint they have received", Rexhaj said. .

All audiovisual media operators in Kosovo that broadcast Premier League matches in Serbian do not have broadcast rights for this sporting event, as they do not have any commercial agreement for the purchase of these rights from the entity "The Football Association Premier League Limited". or from the operator ArenaSport / Telekom Serbia.

The company "DigitAlb" sh.a. is the operator that enjoys the exclusive broadcasting rights with commentary in the Albanian language and the distribution for the territory of the Republic of Albania and Kosovo, of the "Premier League" football sports event. This event is broadcast directly from the television channels of the DigitAlb platform, specifically the thematic sports channels "SuperSport", with commentary in the Albanian language.

The entity "The Football Association Premier League Limited" has officially directly requested the audiovisual media operators in Kosovo to immediately stop the illegal broadcasting of this sports event with commentary in the Serbian language, but on their part the piracy has continued.

In these conditions, "The Football Association Premier League Limited" has been forced to turn to the Independent Media Commission (IMC), as the only regulatory entity of audiovisual media in Kosovo, to take all measures to stop this audiovisual piracy .

Even, in this initiative of theirs to protect the broadcasting rights of the Premier League in the territory of the Republic of Kosovo, "The Football Association Premier League Limited" has informed the President of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr. Glauk Konjufca and the Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Rosetta Hajdari.

The pirated broadcasts of the Premier League in Kosovo with commentary in the Serbian language seriously damage the legitimate economic and commercial interests of DigitAlb, but also openly violate the independence of the state of Kosovo and deny the vast majority of Kosovo citizens to watch and listen with Albanian commentary Premier League matches.
